Dr. Hoefflin with a blind child.

This sweet little girl was born prematurely to a 16 year old alcoholic mother. When she found out that she was blind, she left her with a friend and never came back. Four of the shanty town women "adopted her" and shared in caring, nuturing, and raising her. Despite the tremendous challenges, African Lion Pride Mothers stick together to raise, nuture, and train their cubs. We have borrowed this terrific survival arrangement and have very successfully used it here. With a lot of everyone's prayers and nuturing, all of the mothers say that her vision is returning. Miraculous things happen in children's lives that most people never know about. When I was a surgeon at the Los Angeles Children's Hospital, unquestionably, there were miracles.
